Hello! My name is Dylan, I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and have been working and volunteering in the field of mental health since 2017.
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts (kinesiology) and Science (psychology) from the University of Lethbridge, while also playing on the varsity Pronghorns hockey team for five seasons. I rounded out my post-secondary education with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
I attempt to provide an individually tailored, evidence-based experience. I use person-centered and cognitive behavioural approaches, supplemented with evolutionary, neuropsychological and mindfulness based perspectives. I believe a strong and healthy therapeutic relationship between myself and my clients is essential. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and empathic space for my clients in which they feel accepted, valued, supported, and empowered
I also have the pleasure of bringing my dog Luna (Greater Swiss Mountain Dog) to work with me most days. She is an incredibly warm and gentle animal 😊 However, I apologize in advance if you leave with more dog hair than you arrived with.
In taking care of my own mental health, I enjoy participating in and watching sport (mostly hockey), listening to music (always), walking/biking with my family, watching movies and reading (sci-fi/fantasy), knitting, gardening, stargazing, observing nature, and playing video and board games.
