Greg Jarvis
Registered Provisional Psychologist
With a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Counselling Psychology, I began my training by interning in a mental health setting working with depression, anxiety, and suicidality. However, upon graduation, I had the opportunity to work in a private practice setting where my clients came to therapy for stress, relational conflicts, and grief, among many other issues.
My theoretical orientation primarily includes Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT), and Gottman Method Couples therapy, while gleaning additional interventions from other theoretical frameworks. When coming to see me for therapy, you can expect the experience to be collaborative (meaning that I will work together with the client’s direction in resolving/managing their presenting problem) and real (meaning that I hope to build a good relationship with the client and be down-to-earth).
When not at work, I enjoy hunting, fishing, playing guitar, travelling, and hosting get-togethers where I am normally cooking on the grill. Additionally, I feel most recharged when I spend time with my wife and kids.
